Introduction:

EN3B, also known as EN32 or 080A15, is a medium-carbon mild steel used for general engineering purposes. It offers good machinability and is typically supplied bright drawn or turned. EN3B is ideal for applications where high stress and heat treatment are not required.

  • Limited corrosion resistance; protective coatings or painting are recommended for applications in corrosive environments.

Weldability:

  • Good weldability with standard welding procedures.
  • Preheating is not typically required.

Heat Treatment:

  • EN3B has good machinability, making it suitable for processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and tapping.
